Eclectic -ness

This blog isn't called eclectic juju for nothing. Recently I reintroduced myself to my silhouette Cameo. I bought it last March played with it a few times, got frustrated with it and pretty much stuffed it in a corner and thought about selling it on a Facebook retail site. I had the week of Christmas off and I started playing with it and fell in love with Vinyl projects. It wasn't without trial and error as I ruined a whole package of vinyl trying to figure the damn thing out but thanks to Facebook groups and you tube videos I'm almost a pro. Below are some of the projects that I'm working on. They aren't the prettiest but remember I'm still an amature.
The above photo board is one I made for my mom for Christmas. It was 85 degrees here on Christmas Day. Perfect Beach day and my mom captured this photo while my three nieces were playing in the surf at aunset. I made a lot of mistakes with this one but I learned a lot too..
I was privileged enough to be able to celebrate my Granny's 90th birthday with her last month. Yes I said 90, doesn't she look great? I watched a you tube video on how to transfer a photo to wood. It was super easy and it came out great. I'm working on abother one right now and will post the directions soon.
Playing with vinyl. I love all things silver and glitter and I have a friend who has a birthday coming up that does as well. I'm working on a few wine glasses for her. The vinyl I used can be hand washed so these are usable. Project is still in process.
Car decal anyone? I have a friend who is super obsessed with an "unknown" singer. I took a picture of a concert poster that he gave me months ago and loaded it into my silhouette software. I was able to use the tracing feature and cut it out with vinyl and instant car decal. Only problem was my friend turned his nose up at it when I tried to give it to him. It hurt my feelings big time because I spent two hours working on the damn thing. I'm starting to question our friendship in a big way. I found it rude and disrespectful especially since I was so proud of it.
Last but not least.... all things glitter. These glasses literally came from the dollar tree and I used mod podge and glitter to fancy them up. They are part of the birthday glasses. Finished project will be in another post.

2015 is winding down

2015 is winding down and I will be honest in the fact that I'm not sorry to see it go. This has been one of the most challenging years I can remember not to mention one of the most expensive. Two crowns, 1700 dollars in car repairs, two engines in my car because the shop I took my vehicle to have my timing belt changed royally f**cked it up. One of my beloved turtles passed away and I had the house guests from hell that same weekend. By September I was ready to.crawl in a hole and die..

But alas here it is with 4 more days left of this horrid year so it's time to move forward and start fresh. I'm showing you a picture of my Erin Condren life planner. I love to plan and I love to journal so I combine both of them for hours of fun. Plus it makes scheduling bills and dr appointments fun. I wont be using them next year as I have already purchased my 2017 planner ( I will reveal that later). The credit card I used to purchase my planner for both 2015 and 2016 was compromised and someone charged over 1000 dollars to my card. Luckily citi bank is awesome and took care of everything. I know it was compromised from this company because it is the only place I used this particular card in question.
So without further ado let me introduce you to my Erin Condren 2016 planner. All of the washi tape and stickers were purchased from Michaels or hobby lobby. Decorating my planner each week is very relaxing and it's something that I have come to enjoy. I would be glad to help you get your own planner started if this is something you want to try or you can visit you tube and type in plan with me in the search bar. Literally thousands of planner videos will pop up. It becomes very addictive, don't say I didn't warn you.

Diving on in.... This blog is under construction

Hi I'm Jen or as my nieces and nephews affectionately call me, JuJu. I have been wanting to start a blog for awhile and I'm not sure how successful I will be. Hopefully I will gain an audience other then my supportive family. Any questions, comments and constructive criticism is welcome. Spam, rude comments or bullying of any type will be deleted and blocked from viewing my blog.

My hope is to start a website sometime in 2016 to showcase my knitting and crochet projects that are for sell. I have a domain name set up but that's about where it ends. I'm trying to wrap up the class from hell and get through the hectic holiday season. Hopefully in January I can sit down and get things organized again.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
